Yes I have...
I have also tryed to make samba the WINS server, the other option (make windows 2000
the server, I'll try today) I haven't.

I watched the output of tcpdump on Samba server and when I open "Computers Near Me"
(former Network Neighberhood) I get (Windows 2000 - PORTUGAL - 10.0.0.11 (mask
255.0.0.0); Samba Server - BOWIE - 10.0.1.10 (mask 255.0.0.0)):

21:03:05.680615 portugal.netbios-dgm > 10.255.255.255.netbios-dgm: NBT UDP PACKET(138)
21:03:05.681762 portugal.netbios-ns > 10.255.255.255.netbios-ns: NBT UDP PACKET(137):
QUERY; REQUEST; BROADCAST
21:03:06.429792 portugal.netbios-ns > 10.255.255.255.netbios-ns: NBT UDP PACKET(137):
QUERY; REQUEST; BROADCAST
21:03:07.180919 portugal.netbios-ns > 10.255.255.255.netbios-ns: NBT UDP PACKET(137):
QUERY; REQUEST; BROADCAST

But when I try to access Samba (\\BOWIE), I get:

21:03:17.524901 arp who-has 10.0.1.10 tell portugal

And these lines with strange IP addresses continue changing!!!!
Where do they come from?
