nis-utils-1.4.1 and gmp 4.0.1.3

Hello all,
I am trying to install nis-utils-1.4.1 for NIS+ on RedHat 7.3 client.
When trying to run make I get the mp.h file not found.  After installing
gmp 4.0.1.3 and reading all the archives I can find on the subject, I
still do not have libmp and am going crazy.  Any ideas?
