Windows authentication via Samba using NIS+

I have heard rumours that it is possible for my windows users to
authenticate to NIS+  provided I enable plain text passwords. For me,
plain text passwords is not an issue, but I cannot get the combination
of NIS+ and Samba (2.2.5) to work.

Does anyone authenticate to NIS+ from Samba that can help me?
