niscat foobar.org_dir: NIS+ servers unreachable

Hi,

I have the problem that niscat often returns the error message "NIS+
servers unreachable" instead of the table.

This happens in the /etc/init.d/autofs script for example.
However if I just repeatedly call niscat on the console, it seems to
always work...

(nisutils versions 1.3 and 1.4.1 (different machines) both have this
