[jcifs] network connectivity to a remote machine

Hi,

Can someone please answer these questions?

How do we test network connectivity to a particular remote machine using JCIFS?

How do we test login to a particular remote machine using the user name and password?

I'm trying to transfer files from source to destination using jcfis code (also adding the transfer resumption). I wanted to perform the above checks before the file transfer.
