DFS Question

Stan,

I think that even on XP, it's still the old NT registry setting that is
dropping CIFS sessions from client side when they are idle for a specific
time:

Path: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\lanmanworkstation\parameters
Value name: KeepCon
Value type: DWORD

It should contain the idle timeout in seconds. The default used to be ten
minutes on the old systems. Don't know whether or not they changed it.

I think that it's not specific to DFS. The timout setting is (or at least
used to be) "just there".

Hope that helps

Jan Martin
