[clug] "MiniMax UBS Modem" - EVDO?

The 24 February 2005 issue of "CityNews", pg 14 has an advert for an "MiniMax 
UBS wireless modem" - a CDMA 1xEV-DO device. I guess that is meant to be USB. 
Has anyone tried it, or got access to such a device? If so, can you plug it 
into a Linux box and extract the /proc/bus/usb/devices entries?
