The article basically quotes tridge as saying that the release
specifications for various SMB/CIFS protocols by Microsoft is unlikely
to be useful to GPL projects (i.e Samba).  No surprises there really.

They get bonus marks for mentioning IBM and HP as competitors to
Microsoft, but lose them for getting the definition of the GPL slightly
wrong.
