ntlm_auth taking longer time to response

Hi,
I'm using Samba-3.5.1 along with free radius.
When client tries to authenticate i'm getting below error.

radiusd[29151]: Child PID 31433 (/usr/bin/ntlm_auth) is taking too much
time: forcing failure and killing child.
radiusd[29151]: auth: Failed to validate the user.: [SWITZERLAND\\user1]
(from client localhost port 1 cli xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx via TLS tunnel)

On restarting the free radius it works fine.
Please guide me fixing this issue
