My view is still that we should keep everything in one GIT repo.
Specifically, while we still refer to wscript files in the expected
third_party directory, that those belongs in our GIT tree.
I'm willing to be convinced that when we only refer to original vendor
tarballs, using only the original vendor build system, or we have no
reference at all (users are left to their own devices) that we can evict
them.
Otherwise we are still spreading intimately connected Samba code
(wscript files) across two GIT repositories, and this creates just as
many problems as this proposal is meant to solve. (One specific issue
is because we test and prove our commits using autobuild, the unit of
atomic change is the single GIT hash).
Please also remember to get metze's explicit ACK on this.
