2012 server cannot access samba 3.6.6 (or 3.6.8)

FYI. I went to Herb's site yesterday and reproduced the bug
with him (on 3.6.x, works fine on master). Looks like it
might be a key derivation problem.

I'll log a bug. Question is, is this a show stopper for
3.6.next ?
