Adding volfs support to Apple's samba client

Hello,

I'm working on a project to enhance support for an video capture
application which access files via the Carbon File Manager. The
(closed source) application throws up an error when capturing to any
filesystem except for HFS+, Appletalk,  or Thursby's DAVE, all of
which support volfs - I think that adding volfs support to Apple's
samba client might fix the problem for non-DAVE users as well.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or help?
