Problem when a MAC OS-X machine connects to a samba2.2.12 share

There are a lot of small devices out there (the Linksys NSLU2 and D-Link
DNS-323 come to mind) that still run Samba 2.2.x. It's a pain, I know, to
test against these devices but their cheap enough and there are lots of them
out there.
