per connection data

What does "per connection data" mean in regards to a vfs module?
E.g., with Microsoft client , AFAIK we have a single TCP connection
(use the same SMBD) for multiple shares. 
Does that mean the same vfs_handle_struct->data will be reused for all those shares?
What's the best way to keep data private per CIFS session(per share?) in vfs module?
