3 and 4 are now complete. You can get them in the SOC/sree/ branch,
r17629. There are still a few nits, but they should be handled by
tomorrow, along with 1. There is no code for (2).

I've tested the User Manager with Samba revision 15908.

I'll post a longer message tomorrow.
