I think the [homes] hack is too embedded at this point.
it's never really been broken since it relies on 'valid
users' working which means it gets tested more than just
with [homes].

I'm not violently opposed to your idea but it seems more
like a lateral change than a real advantage to me.
But I'm an optionphobe so I'll just about always come down
on the side of opposing new options unless there's a real
vertical benefit.
