I have my setup done by using %L to change the server behavior of my
sambaserver. This work great for windows and unix clients. But if I
connect with macos it do not work.

Detail. I use the names SHARES and HOMES as netbiosnames to deside what
to do. When a mac is connecting with smb://homes.xx.yy.zz/bla to connect
to the bla-share with netbiosname HOMES it dosn't work. mac gives the
name SHARES and use it as netbiosname of the server. Further on I tryed
on an other maschine with other version of samba and only one netbios
name. Then mac tryes to use "*smbserver" as netbios name of the server.

This is absolutely strange and I think a bug in the smb implementation
of mac. But is there a solution to work arround this? Or do anyone know
where the hell macos gets the netbiosnames from?

Ah yes, it is allways the name1 in the debug log. The name2 as the
netbios name of the client ist correct. And homes.xx.yy.zz and
shares.xx.yy.zz are cnames to the same host.

Gruss
   Klaus
