Hmmm, here is the code in service.c that is producing that message:
snum = find_service(service);
if (snum < 0) {
if (strequal(service,"IPC$") || strequal(service,"ADMIN$")) {
DEBUG(3,("refusing IPC connection to %s\n", service));
*status = NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED;
return NULL;
}
DEBUG(0,("%s (%s) couldn't find service %s\n",
get_remote_machine_name(), client_addr(), service));
*status = NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME;
return NULL;
}
(reformatted a little).
I know of two or three different reasons for that to fail:
1. The service does not exist
2. The target directory does not exist
3. The target directory is not accessible to the user requesting access.
