windows 98 remote configuration

hi there

i do have a red hat  box with the samba server running at home. .
 i want to connect another windows 98 machine that i have in other location
to the linux box.

my questions are:
1) with is the configuration for the windows 98 machine if i want to see the
linux box via the neighborhood ?

2) do i need to run a wins server in the linux box ? wich considerations do
i need to keep in mind ?

If you can  provide me examples or any references to documentation, i'd
appreciate it
