any suggestion on winbind separator?

I use '+' because I have a few scripts that must process fully qualified
user names. I don't want the '\' to be misinterpreted as a shell escape, and
I don't want the '/' to appear as a directory separator. I would be willing
to use any character that is illegal in a Windows user name, and has no
special meaning in Unix.

Subject: any suggestion on winbind separator?

The default winbind separator is '\', some documents use '+'. Which one
is better? Will '/' be OK? What's the advantage or side effect each one
has? If use '+' is better, why not use it as default?
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lin
