I've been trying to get samba3 working lately
(i need the domain groups stuff)
my latest question involves the default location of
smb.conf
in 2.2.x
the makefile says
CONFIGFILE = $(CONFIGDIR)/smb.conf
LMHOSTSFILE = $(CONFIGDIR)/lmhosts
DRIVERFILE = $(CONFIGDIR)/printers.def
but in head it says
LOGFILEBASE = $(VARDIR)
CONFIGFILE = $(LIBDIR)/smb.conf
LMHOSTSFILE = $(LIBDIR)/lmhosts
DRIVERFILE = $(LIBDIR)/printers.def
why the change?
it appears to ignore
--with-configdir=/etc/samba
now
am I missing something here?
why would anybody want config files in /usr/lib ?
I've got things to run by adding -s /etc/samba/smb.conf
but that seems lame.
