problem browsing Printers share on Samba 2.2.0 server from NT4
- lag and/or explorer crash

I am experiencing a problem that just started last week. When I connect from NT
to samba [as Nt user mapped to root] I get the normal share listing of printers,
tmp, root, and the Printers folder. This comes up within 1-2 seconds. The
problem is that when I open the Printers folder to display the samba shared
printers [in order to select them and add/change drivers...] I get a blank
window and an hourglass for >5 minutes then I get either a window with only the
Add Printer icon [no printers] or explorer chokes and i get a Dr. Watson error.
This is using the same smb.conf I have used on perhaps 20-30 builds during
testing - I have never seen this error before.
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I have included my smb.conf below and
attached an L10 log for the machine I'm connecting from. BTW, this happens from
both NT and w2k.
as usual, any input is appreciated.
