We use ClearCase 3.0 on Solaris 5.5 and ClearCase 3.2.1 on Solaris 5.5.1 and
some patches installed. On these machines Samba 2.0.6 is installed too.
Samba has been installed with the sfio stdio Library to allow more than 256
open files.
smb.conf looks like for the VOB/Views:
[viewstore]
comment = ClearCase ViewStore
path = /opt/viewstore
create mask = 775
read only = no
force group = KST
valid users = @KST
admin users = vobadm clearcase_albd
; No oplocks with ClearCase
oplocks = no
I already tuned the NT client with some registry settings to open only 800
files. (If you want the details please contact me).
The problem is that using snapshot views and/or dynamic views on sometimes
the following error occours:
With dynamic views:
tfdmgr.exe: System error, The network name has been deleted
System Process - Application Error
mvfs: ERROR: view=viewname vob=\vobnaame - ClearCase vob error see view_log on host hostname for more info
Event log says:
view_server.exe(275): Error: Unable to construct cleartext for object "0x4ECB"
in VOB "unixhost:/disk_t2/vobstore/vobname_vob.vbs": error detected by
ClearCase subsystem
view_server.exe(275): Error: Type manager "text_file_delta" failed
construct_version operation.
text_file_delta: Error: Unable to open file
"\\unixhost\vobstore\vobname_vob.vbs\s/sdft\1f/1/0-88b8a592dafd11d3bdd200e01898eb01-w3": Invalid argument
Any ideas?

Gerhard Wiesinger
