NT & Linux communicating thru FIFO

Hi all,
    I am a newbie to Samba and I am not sure if I am posting to the correct
group. I have an application on NT and another on Linux reading and writing data
from a FIFO buffer(which can be kept on either NT or Linux). I wish to work with
this sort of setting, I would like to know if it is possible to do that and what
is to be done in that case. Any help or suggestions?
