m4 is a macro language often used for generating sendmail.cf files and
that sort of thing, autoconf too. See 
ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/m4-1.4.tar.gz and also 
http://www.kudonet.com/~rkowen/howto/webpaging/m4.html. Its meant for 
mangling config files mostly I think, Even m4 experts seem to use perl 
for other tasks even though m4 could do the job. But I'm no m4 expert :-)
