I have some good news to report -- although 0.13a did not fix the
problem, I've just tried 0.13d and lo and behold! It doesn't crash
anymore. Or at least it hasn't crashed for the past two days. Given that
it had been crashing every couple of minutes before that, I'd call that
impressive.

So, thanks a lot and congratulations! It's amazing how much one learns
to appreciate driver stability that way.
