Symbol Spectrum CF / Monitor status?

Hi,

just wanted to get some feedback about the current status
of the symbol/spectrum cf. I'm a OpenZaurus [http://openzaurus.org]
& Opie [http://opie.handhelds.org] developer
and am working on Wellenreiter/Opie [http://www.remote-exploit.org].

I can reproduce a freeze on my Zaurus SL5500-G (OpenZaurus 3.1rc2),
the Symbol CF card and the spectrum-symbol driver version 0.3.7 + 
scan and monitor patches. The freeze occurs after a nondeterministic
time portion, but reproducable.

It is independent of the program I use to sniff with. Also it doesn't
make a difference if using iwpriv or ioctl'ing directly.

First question, does anyone have this combination stable?
If not, is anyone aware of someone wanting to look into this?

Last question, any plans to migrate the symbol spectrum driver to
use hostap as the backend? AFAIK later hostap include support for
cards with downloadable firmware.
