Take one card you know that it is a black cap. Put it in an access
point, take a notebook, activate the client manager link test and move
with the notebook until the link quality gets near the lower end of
range. Now have someone at hands who can exchange the cards in the
access point. If the link quality is nearly the same with the exchanged
card, then it should be a black cap. If you don't get a connection
anymore, it most probably is a red cap.
This is no perfect way to determine, but close to perfect ;))
