SIOCGIWRATE

Hallo,

i'm a bit confused about the SIOCGIWRATE ioctl and its meaning.

<wireless.h> says:
#define SIOCSIWRATE 0x8B20  /* set default bit rate (bps) */
#define SIOCGIWRATE 0x8B21  /* get default bit rate (bps) */

What does "default" mean in that context. Is it the forced bit-rate,
max./min. bit-rate. Is there any difference, in those ioctls meaning, when
used in Adhoc/Infrastructure Mode?
