Easy question...Compatibility

I had heard that my PCMCIA cards work in FreeBSD
but the versions of BSD seem to be farther behind than
Linux. I am afraid other hardware will not work with it.

I dont know!

Lets just say I might give it a try. Hmm. Any suggestions
you want to add, email to me or the list and I will certainly
use them gratefully.
