   Yeah.  oops.  Thanks.  A thinko, I'm sure what I meant to say :) : every
time you halve the signal strength you lose 3dB.  Doubling the distance of
course quarters the signal strength (1/r^2).  That makes the
numbers for marginal traffic through the wall harsher as well.
