Hello!

I just got my ORiNOCO silver card working (as far as I can tell)
with the 2.4.18-pre7 kernel. Thanks for all the good documentation!

One thing I noticed though, if I put it in ad-hoc mode, I get a huge
number of errors in the log:

Feb 2 09:16:07 lanforge-ice last message repeated 1883 times
Feb 2 09:16:07 lanforge-ice kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,0)
Feb 2 09:16:07 lanforge-ice kernel: eth1: Error -110 writing packet header to BAP
Feb 2 09:16:09 lanforge-ice last message repeated 1889 times
Feb 2 09:16:09 lanforge-ice kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,0)
Feb 2 09:16:09 lanforge-ice kernel: eth1: Error -110 writing packet header to BAP
Feb 2 09:16:11 lanforge-ice last message repeated 1826 times
Feb 2 09:16:11 lanforge-ice kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,0)
Feb 2 09:16:11 lanforge-ice kernel: eth1: Error -110 writing packet header to BAP
Feb 2 09:16:13 lanforge-ice last message repeated 1836 times

Also at this time, the K-softirq process was using 99% of
the CPU.

Note that as far as I know, there are no other 802.11b devices
operating around here.

On a slightly different topic, I have two of the Silver cards, and no
base station. Do I put both machines in ad-hoc mode in order to talk
to each other? If not, what MODE and/or ESSID do I use?

Thanks,
Ben
