no the airport card is alas not just a pcmcia card. it looks like one, however
the way to make it work has nothing to do with pcmcia, you dont even need
pcmcia installed on a box to use the airport card. However what this all means
is that it only works inside an apple with an airport slot (pretty much any
new mac bought in the past year or so).

It would be nice as they are only $200 (or less) and work the same as an
orinoco (which is what they are internally). They dont however plug into
pcmcia slots.
