Vista/Linux time differences

I mount a directory (NTFS) from Vista onto my Linux box. Somtimes i can
touch a local file, say /tmp/foo, and do:
find . -type f -newer /tmp/foo
in a directory from Vista and find gobs of files, like there's a gross
difference in the time setting. But the times
agree. Does this sound like a dumb user error where I have UTC (?) on the
Linux box and a standard US timezone
setting on the Vista box?
