samba.3.0.23 with redhat 5 causing XP clients to reboot

2 XP Professional clients can map a drive,  add and delete files but on issuing a rename command the pc reboots.  They have requested and received the hotfix for a STOP 0x00000035 (0x8207ecd8, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS. They have workgroups set up.

I can map a drive rename files without a problem. I do not have workgroups set up.
