Hello,

I have a debian sarge samba (3.0.14) server and a Win XP Prof. (SP2)
client both in a workgroup called HILLSIDE and try to access the
clients browse list from the server with "smbclient -L client" and get
always the following output:

alex at host-188-217:~$ smbclient -L pohl
Password:
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[HILLSIDE] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

        Sharename       Type      Comment
        ---------       ----      -------
Error returning browse list: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[HILLSIDE] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

        Server               Comment
        ---------            -------

        Workgroup            Master
        ---------            -------

However, I can get the browselist of the client as soon as I provide a
username and a password. This problem only occurs on WinXP Prof, the
home version doesn't have this problem.
I have tried to find a solution by finding a setting using the
"gpedit.msc" management console, but changing network security
settings under /windows-settings/security-settings/local
policies/security-options (translation might be slightly wrong) did
not solve the problem. The windows guest account is enabled.

I need enable anonymous browsing because I want to use my shared
printer attached to the win client from the samba server.

Thank you in advance,
Alexander Pohl
