i tried that and it did not work.  the problem is that the samba server is
sharing the resource and the xp client is mounting the shared drive. when
you double click onto the domain in network places on the xp workstation,
you can see the samba server and then the shared resources [HOME], the
problem is that when you double click on the [HOME] share, you get a
resources not available, permission denied.  the samba server is not a PDC,
i am allowing domain logins and have users set up on the samba server to
match the PDC server. permissions on the directories are correct.  note,
that this configuration works fine with 98 & 2000, its just XP that i am
having trouble with.
