Yes
Reloading the config has no effect on already established connections,
to break these you need to either:
Stop Samba on the server.
Disconnect the client
Or as Arnaud has already pointed out, run 'smbcontrol close-share smbd'.
Please read 'man smbcontrol' for further information.
