I think the problem is that things are getting added to Samba without
any real documentation, perhaps expecting that it can be worked out
from how Windows does it or by using Windows tools. I have even noticed
things getting added and not even mentioned in WHATSNEW.txt .

Perhaps as well as creating tests, it should be mandatory to create a
mini howto if adding a major feature, the developer may know how it
works, but as this case shows, others do not.
