I just live for years now with all FSMO roles in a single DC, but just wondering if there's any benefit in splitting roles among DCs. A few random questions :

Are any of the FSMO roles resource-intensive tasks? Can distributing them improve performance.?

If so, which FSMO roles should be kept together, and which should be separated for better performance?

How should FSMO roles be distributed in a multi-site AD setup? How are you doing it ?

What are the risks of keeping all FSMO roles on a single Domain Controller?

What impact does splitting FSMO roles have on authentication and replication performance?

How can we efficiently monitor and transfer FSMO roles in case of failure?

Are there any best practices for FSMO role placement in high-availability scenarios?

How does FSMO role distribution affect disaster recovery and failover planning?
