Sorry for the late answer. I confirm that i use pam_winbind for
authentication (and password managemet: password can expired and changed by
users as happen in windows).

Also i can confirm that NFS is a bit too problematic nowadays, so i use CIFS
via pam_mount.

Because i mount 'windows home' as 'unix home' (~), in the past i've had some
trouble with some app/desktop mamagement for things like locks and special
files. Seems better now...
