Thank you for your reply. I did check everything, and it turns out that the
DNS server nslookup was receiving its answers from is not answering
correctly.
If I specify a server, I get the correct answers, except from that one:
nslookup 192.168.10.8
** server can't find 8.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa: NXDOMAIN
nslookup 192.168.10.8 DC1
** server can't find 8.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa: NXDOMAIN
nslookup 192.168.10.8 DC2
8.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa name = newdc.mydomain.com
nslookup 192.168.10.8 DC3
8.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa name = newdc.mydomain.com
I verified the record on DC1:
samba-tool dns query DC1 0.0.10.in-addr.arpa 8 PTR -U Administrator
Name=, Records=1, Children=0
PTR: newdc.lan.cimbal.pt (flags=f0, serial=162, ttl=900)
The record is there, but for some reason, DC1 is not answering correctly.
I won't bother sorting this out because this DC is to be retired.
Thank you again!
