Congratulations, you have found a genuine bug, award yourself a gold
star :-)
On one of my DCs:
samba-tool -V
samba-tool: missing subcommand
4.20.4-Debian-4.20.4+dfsg-1~bpo12+1
With what I believe to be the fix:
samba-tool -V
4.20.4-Debian-4.20.4+dfsg-1~bpo12+1
I will not be providing the fix, my python isn't up to it, Andrew said
so, this means we will have to 'continue' with this bug until
either Douglas or Andrew fix it, they introduced it.
