[Samba] Mac fail to connect

Hi All,


I am having difficulty getting a Mac running Sonoma 14.1.2 to connect to 
a Samba 4.17 service on a Rocky 8 system.

I could get a Ventura and Catalina Macs and a Fedora 38 system to 
connect without issue.

The errant Mac requests the users password and behaves as if the 
password is invalid. The Samba logfiles don't show much of interest.

Any ideas??
