looks like a durable handle reconnect fails somewhere subtly and the 
error handling code didn't close the file descriptor of the fsp.

Installing Samba debug packages would add more info to the next crash, 
but you need to configure Samba with a panic action script "sleep 10000" 
and then attach with gdb to the crashed proces, reading the full stack 
backtrace with "bt full".
