Let’s get a little positive

In a VM environment, it’s quite easy to spawn a couple of small machines ( in a similar environment as yours with about 500 users I use 3 DCs with 2 cores and 2GB memory each in different hosts).

The file server can also be a VM, maybe 4Gb for your number of users. I use raw disks from the host to the VM. It works like a charm.
