We have tested with older versions of Samba - including 4.10.16 which is shipped with RHEL7, and do not see this issue - it only appears to happen on RHEL8 boxes.

Thank you for looking into my case.

Yes, I am trying to standup a new machine with 4.15.7, I will update what transpires.

Is there a chance you can install 4.15.7 or later on this box to check ?
