libavahi provides common code used by both the daemon and client utils.
I have no daemon installed on the file server

I would stop using .local, but that will require leaving and rejoining
on a lot of machines that are remote to me :(  , for now we just wont
use avahi on any servers, unless there is a cool way to rename a domain

So I want to make sure I understand.  Network discovery does both find
the server (Ie: old network neighborhood) and displays the shares?  I
only need the 2nd.

Is there a preferred discovery server from the samba team perspective?
