[Samba] Windows Server 2019 Domain Controller Compatibility

Hmm...I haven't dug too deep into it....are you talking about Domain/Forest
levels? We're still at 2008 R2 because we still (unfortunately) have 2008
R2 servers.
But I have ~27 machines running Samba as domain controllers on the network.
Is it possible that it's just not talking with the 2016 and 2019 DCs and
instead getting all its info from the existing 2008 and 2012 DCs?

How have you joined a Samba AD DC to anything above 2012 ? Which Samba
version are you using ?
