Hi,

man ctdb states this in the reloadnodes section:

       Procedure to remove nodes:

        ...

        3. On all other nodes, edit the /etc/ctdb/nodes file and comment out the nodes to be removed. Do not delete the lines for the deleted nodes, just comment them out by adding a '#' at the beginning
           of the lines.

        ...

I am wondering
a) why the line(s) need to be commented and not removed
b) if this description is still valid with current ctdb
c) what happens if you remove the line nevertheless
d) if the commented line(s) can be removed eventually (and when)?

Having to keep commented lines is a bit unexpected and easily leads to people not knowing above manpage section simply removing them (which just happened here and that's the reason for this post... as the ctdb seems to run fine nevertheless I'd like to know more about this).

Uli
